Twins!

My name is Lacy Reeves and I am the owner of Grand Gestures, LLC. The inspiration for this business actually started in the year 2000, right after my baby was born.

Stork rentals announcing the birth of a new baby were popular at the time and I thought, “Why limit the idea to birth announcements?”  My idea was to create whimsical cards for any occasion.  Like the storks, they too would be so large they’d have to be set up outside.

Like a ninja, I could slip in after dark, set up the greeting while my baby slept in the car or was home with dad. The recipient would then wake to find a memorable surprise and I would be a work-from-home mom, running a business.

Nothing came of my idea back then. I was a motivational speaker, loved what I did, and already had the flexibility needed to the kind of mom I dreamed of being.

Fast forward 20 years.

After battling a serious illness and surviving a season of loss I decided it was time to trust the magic that comes from new beginnings.

Ironically, when I decided to revisit my yard card idea, the baby I spoke of earlier was moving cross country to start his college career. With my child now grown, Grand Gestures quickly became my new baby and like my first born, it too grew quickly. We now have letters in every color and a variety of finishes.  We’ve designed and created hundreds of unique pieces to pair with our 24-inch letters. Some stand 5 feet tall! We call it flair and flair allows clients to customize their greetings. They don’t cost more; they’re just options you can use to personalize your greeting.

I was already deep into preparations to open my new business when a friend told me about a popular trend in Europe. I knew immediately it should be a part of Grand Gestures. So, I set out to learn everything I could about marquee letters.

With grand in our name, we went all-in and now have Colorado’s largest inventory of four-foot, free standing marquee letters and numbers; and they’re gorgeous!

Our rental program makes it possible for people to rent any letter, word, or phrase for any occasion. The biggest challenge is deciding what statement to make.

So, you can see, while I thought Grand Gestures was going to be my new baby, I actually had twins! Fraternal twins, but twins! Our marquee letters and yard greetings may not be identical, but they were both born from the alphabet and like twins, they too get a lot of attention wherever they go!

Like any good mother,
I’ve fallen in love.
I’d love to introduce you.
I think you’ll fall in love too.
